KAYI funds are designed to offer financial help to youth ages 18 and under on Dec 31st of the current calendar year (or those who are still seniors in high school).
There are three levels of sponsorship available at KAYI; Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Our Bronze level sponsorship is for advanced level youth who have either reached the highest level of the Jr Academy leagues, may have tried out or played in our youth draft league, or just consider themselves a 4.0+ player. These Bronze level players have the drive and the desire to want to improve their game and their skills level and are willing to put in the work to make it happen.
Our Silver level sponsorship is for our highest level youth players who are ready to try the Pro level in a sanctioned tournament for the first time, whether that be USAP, PPA, APP, or Next Gen events. Once approved, youth would pay for their out of pocket expenses first, submit their receipts, and then be reimbursed with KAYI funds with their approved Silver level sponsorship amount. If youth are denied at the Silver level, please work hard to meet the application criteria, and feel free to apply again in 6 months time. Please enjoy the benefits of the Bronze level sponsorship in the meantime.
To be eligible for a Silver level sponsorship, youth must either have medalled at 5.0 in a sanctioned USAP, PPA or APP tournament or ranked in APP top 20 in the last 12 months, OR have a current DUPR score rating of at least 5.0, AND must be willing to assist in a youth development clinic if they are selected for funds (all proceeds from clinic go to KAYI with our pay it forward focus)
You may continue at the Silver level sponsorship level (dependent on available funds) as long as you win at least one match at Pro in your recent tournament.
Our Gold level sponsorship is our highest tier for those players who are excelling at pro level and trying to make a name for themselves. To maintain this higher award level, youth need to win at least three total matches per USAP, PPA or APP tournament (qualifiers and/or main draw), or win at least five total matches per Next Gen tournament. If these results are not maintained after three tournaments, player will revert back to Silver sponsorship level.
