Rules/Eligibility Requirements:
- KAYI is designed to offer financial help to youth ready to compete at Pro level, whether that be PPA, APP or Next Gen events.
- Funds are designed for youth ages 18 and under on Dec 31st of the current calendar year or those who are still seniors in high school.
- Youth would first need to apply and receive approval to receive KAYI funds for a specific tournament. If approved, they would need to pay for these events out of pocket themselves, and then submit receipts to receive the approved amount as a reimbursement. If denied, please work to meet the application criteria and feel free to apply again in 6 months. In the meantime, youth can take advantage of the KAYI Advanced Youth Development Clinics to improve and level up.
- Minimum/first time donation eligibility requirements:
- Must have medaled at 5.0 in PPA or APP tourney or ranked in top twenty in APP Next Gen in the last 12 months OR have a current double DUPR rating of at least 5.0 AND
- Must have played in at least one Kitchen affiliated youth league or draft league in the last 12 months, or be willing to teach a youth clinic once (all proceeds from clinic go to KAYI with our pay it forward focus)
- We want to grow the KAYI fund and be able to help as many youth as possible throughout the state and beyond, so if you are chosen to receive funds, we want you to wear a KAYI hat or shirt when you compete in your tournament, and tag KAYI on your social media when you post about your tourney. This is all about paying it forward! (If you are a sponsored athlete who has a clause about not being able to wear competing clothing when you play, please let us know)
- If you do not win any matches at Pro, please wait 6 months before applying again. Take advantage of the KAYI Advanced Youth Development Clinics in the meantime.
- If you win at least one match but do not meet the maximum donation eligibility requirements, you may apply again within 6 months for minimum donation but it will be considered on a case by case basis depending on funds available in KAYI.
- Maximum donation eligibility requirements:
- 1: PPA: Win at least three matches total per tournament (qualifiers and/or main draw) OR
- 2: APP: Win at least three matches total per tournament (qualifiers and/or main draw) OR
- 3: NEXT GEN: Win at least five matches total per tournament.
If 1, 2 or 3 results are not maintained after three tournaments, player will revert back to minimum eligibility donation.
- Minimum and maximum donation amounts will be determined based on available KAYI funds and number of applicants.
